Neal Thompson, Chief Instructor

Neal Thompson is the Chief Instructor of CrossFit Boston.  Neal's career in athletics began at a young age.  While growing up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh he was introduced to strength training and a lifelong passion was established.  Neal competed in Division I-AA football while at Bucknell University, where he was named Co-Captain his senior year, and became certified as a USA Weightlifting Club Coach.  Upon graduating, Neal pursued a business career before coming back to his true passion of strength and conditioning.  Neal is CrossFit Certified Level III.

Eva Claire Synkowski, Assistant Instructor

Eva Claire ("EC") Synkowski is an assistant instructor at CrossFit Boston.  EC has been strength training since playing competitive sports in grade school.  She worked as a certified personal trainer through graduate school at the University of Maryland, but pursued a career in environmental consulting since completing her M.S. in 2004.  Her interest in coaching has been rekindled since joining CrossFit Boston.  EC became CrossFit Level II certified in October 2006.

Will Tagye, Assistant Instructor

Will Tagye began training at Crossfit Boston in November of 2005.  He initially just planned to supplement his own Crossfit based workouts with some direct source knowledge for a month and then continue working out on his own.  It only took one class and Will was hooked.   Will has been involved in athletics all his life.  From T-ball to H.S. Football, Wrestling, and Baseball and on to the physical training of the United States Marine Corps, Will has been constantly involved in fitness.  Will was an infantryman in the Marine Corps with a specialization in Anti-Terrorist Force Protection and Urban Warfare.   He is a certified USA Weightlifting Club Coach and is Crossfit Level II certified.   Will is also owner and operator of CrossFit MetroWest located in Natick, Ma.

Steve Trussell, Assistant Instructor

Steve has been working as a personal trainer since 1997.  His training style had evolved over the years to include many CrossFit elements like Oly lifts, basic gymnastics, and high intensity interval work and when he found CrossFit.com in Dec.’05 it was love at first sight.  After concluding that CrossFit programming was the answer for those “in pursuit of elite fitness” Steve traveled to Santa Cruz and became certified to teach it.  Since then, Steve’s clients have not only seen their training results in the mirror but measure it regularly through increased athletic performance in and out of the gym.  Steve also works closely with clients to develop eating habits that support muscle growth and help the body burn fat for energy.

Steve has trained in numerous locations around Boston and Cape Cod and has worked as a trainer with the Tufts University Exercise Research Department. He is also currently studying to become a registered nurse and plans to receive his RN in the Summer of 2007.  Steve is CrossFit Level II certified.
